About Me

For as long as I can remember I have wanted to work in the space sector. Because of this I choose to pursue an education in Physics and Space Science and am continually taking steps towards professional development.

Presently, I am most interested in the world of subatomic particles, and what high energy particles from space can tell us about dark matter. During my undergraduate education I demonstrated excellence in both theoretical and experimental areas of physics, especially quantum mechanics and mathematical physics.

Education

Queen' University

M.Sc Physics Sep. 2019 - May 2021

I will be completing a thesis entitled "Dark Matter-Neutrino Scattering in the Galactic Centre with IceCube" under the supervision of Dr. Aaron Vincent. I will also be taking courses in particle physics, quantum mechanics and astrophysics.

The Royal Military College of Canada

Honors Physics and Space Science and Minor in Mathematics B.Sc Sep. 2015 - May 2019

I recently graduated from the Royal Military College of Canada with highest distinction having been awarded the depatmental award for Physics and the Stuart S. Barton Science Award. I completed my thesis entitled Energization of Magnetospheric Charged Particles in Gradient Electric and Magentic Fields under the supervision of Dr. Konstantin Kabin.

Arthur B. McDonald Institute

Canadian Astroparticle Physics Summer School May. 2018

As a participant in the first annual CAPSS I was exposed to cutting edged research taking place at Queen's University and SNOLab. This included lessons about the theoretical and experimental aspects of astroparticle physics.

Work

Royal Military College of Canada

Research Scientist June. 2019 - Aug. 2019

Under the supervison of Dr. Thomas Krause I worked towards analytical solutions to conical truncated resonant cavities. This work focused on incorporating time-retarded effects, a more realistic model cavity structure, considering the radiation reaction and magentic vector potential outside of the cavity.

436 Squadron, Trenton Ontario

Aerospace Engineer Preparatory Phase One Student May 2018 - Aug. 2018

As an APP1 student most of my time was dedicated to job shadowing technicians fixing the CC130J Hercules aircraft.

United States Air Force Academy

Introduction to Space Operations Instructor May. 2017 - Aug. 2017

Teaching cadets at USAFA how to design, construct and launch a high altitude balloon containing a unique scientific experiment. While at USAFA I learned the intricacies of high altitude balloon experimentation in a military context, gaining skills that I hope to apply to my career in the Canadian Armed Forces. I was involved in over 20 high altitude balloon launches, collected and analyzed the data from over twenty experiments, and improved balloon flight path prediction capabilities through statistical analysis and the improvement of prediction software.

Horseshoe Resort

Ski Instructor Dec. 2013 - Mar. 2015

Worked as a cross country ski instructor for youth aged 4-12. I also worked in the rental shop and ran a march break camp.

Volunteering

The Royal Military College of Canada

Various Leadership Positions Sep. 2015 - May 2019

As part of the requirements to graduate from RMC, students are required to complete leadership positions. During this time I served as the Cadet Squadron Sports Officer (CSSO), Cadet Section Commander (CSC), and Cadet Squadron Operations Officer (CSOpsO).

Scouts Canada

1st Portsmouth Beaver Scout Leader Sept. 2017 - Present

1st Pittsburgh Beaver Scout Leader Sept. 2016 - Sept. 2017

4th Barrie Beaver Scout Leader Sept. 2014 - Sept 2015

As a volunteer scouter with Kingston Centre I help plan and facilitate fun and engaging programs for youth aged 4 to 7.

Hotel Dieu Hospital
